  1. A very well written and inspiring post. I sure do hope Father Webootsa’s room is safe! I would hate for anything bad to happen. It sure does seem that such a fortune could attract attention from far and wide. And wow, what a humbling factoid… that the town’s name means ‘crowded shoulder to shoulder’. Thank you for sharing this story.

  2. Just stumbled across this aricle as I searched for an image of St. John’s Sports Society. A well written piece that gives the reader a feel of a life lived in very difficult circumstances but a life in which Fr. John helps others to live with hope.
I took the Olympic Torch to Korogocho at the request of CAFOD and it was clearly the best thing I have ever done in my life. To see this update is a great thing. The gym has recently opened and a library alongside, paid for by two English schools. Sadly not all is so well as Peter is trying to further his education but finding it difficult to get into a college. I’m in touch with him by email and encouraging him to look to the future and push hard to get a college place.

With a year gone by since the report, perhaps it’s time for a follow-up article?

Thanks for puting the story out.
